Water pump near Eldoret

One of the first projects that the Kenya Aid Programme became involved with was the purchase of a water pump and associated equipment, to be installed in a region close to Eldoret.

A small scale water abstraction kit will be drilled into the ground, allowing shallow surface water to be collected by the villagers in 10 and 20 ltr plastic containers. A team from the Kenya Aid Programme visited Eldoret to identify possible locations in December 2009.

Our interim involvement with an irrigation project just outside of Eldoret in early 2010 has further added to our understanding of the importance of access to / storage of clean water.
